Add and manage blog posts using website builder

Add a blog to my website

Post new content on your blog to engage visitors and build authority. Tips, eye-catching photos, tasty recipes or industry insights — blog items don’t need to be long. Consistency counts more than perfection: The point is to make your site stand out in the digital crowd.

  1. Go to your Adalike product page.
  2. Scroll to Website Builder and select Manage next to your website to open your site.
  3. Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  4. Go to the page and location you want to add your blog posts into your site, and add a section.
  5. Search for the Blog section. You can only add one Blog section per page. If you don’t see a Blog section available, scroll until you find it, then hover over it and use the arrows to move it up or down.
  6. Edit the title of the blog in the website. Select the Blog section and use the editor panel on the right to also edit the title of the blog as well as the layout, accent color and background image. After you add at least one blog post, then you can also choose which category or categories to display.
  7. Select External blog feed if you wish to display blog posts from somewhere else on your site. Enter the Feed URL of that blog.
  8. Select Done.
  9. Your changes are saved automatically. Use Preview to see the results and when you’re ready to make the changes public, publish your site.

Change my blog settings

Looking to change up how your blog looks — or simply give it a new name? Or perhaps you need to update the address for that external blog appearing on your site. All these items can be changed in the blog panel.

  • Select Edit Website or Edit Site to open your website builder.
  • Go to your blog section and select it. You may have one blog section per page.
  • Edit the title of the blog in the website or use the editor panel on the right to also edit the title of the blog as well as the layout, accent color and background image. After you add at least one blog post, then you can also choose which category or categories to display.
  • Select External blog feed if you wish to display blog posts from somewhere else on your site. Enter the Feed URL of that blog.
  • Select Done.
  • Your changes are saved automatically. Use Preview to see the results and when you’re ready to make the changes public, publish your site.

Remove a blog from my site

This action can be used to remove your own blog from your site — or an external blog feed that you’ve been displaying.

Note: This action is not the same as deleting a blog post, which is explained in Delete or remove a post from my blog

  1. Log in to your Adalike account and open your product.
  2. Click Edit Site.
  3. Scroll to where the blog appears in your main window, click anywhere within that section and the blog panel opens.

  4. Click Delete Section at the very bottom of the panel, then click Delete in the confirmation window that appears. The blog is removed immediately.
    Click Delete Section
  5. Click Publish to push the changes to your site.

Delete or remove a post from my blog

Thanks to the quick-publish nature of blogs, it’s not surprising that you’ll want to delete a post from time to time. Fortunately, removing posts doesn’t take long and doesn’t change the order of your remaining posts.

Note: This action is not the same as removing your entire blog , which is explained in Remove a blog from my site.

  1. Log in to your Adalike account and open your product.
  2. Click Edit Site.
  3. Click the My Blog panel.
    click blog
  4. When your blog appears, scroll to the post you want to delete, click the three-dot button next to that post and choose Delete.
    Choose Delete in the menu
  5. When the confirmation window appears, click Delete again and the post is removed from your blog.
    Click Delete again

    Customize blog settings

Note: The URL example’s …/rss (Rich Site Summary) ending is the most common feed format.

    Preview blog

Note: Click the Change Layout arrow whenever you want choose a different layout.
