Creating a blog post

Your website’s blog lets you write a new post, format it, add a photo and publish it right away. Not sure what to say? Draft versions are saved automatically, so just jot down a quick idea and finish it when you’re ready.

  1. Go to your Adalike product page.
  2. Scroll down to Website Builder and select Manage next to the website you want to change.
  3. Click the Website tab at the top of the page.
  4. Click Edit Site.

    click My Blog button
  6. In the Manage Blog window, click Create Post.

How to create or change blog categories

By creating blog categories and assigning them to posts, you can control where individual posts appear. You can create the categories on the fly, as well as change them later on.

Note: Before diving into creating categories, you need to Add a blog to my website and Create blog posts.

  1. Log in to your Adalike account and open your product.
  2. Click Edit Site.
  3. Click Open in the My Blog panel.
    click My Blog button

  5. Click the settings button next to the post’s Publish button.
    Click button next to Publish
  6. Enter your first category in the Category name field and click Add.

    Select category, click Publish

Note: If you want to continue categorizing other posts before publishing, click Posts in main window to return to the Manage Blog window.

Using multiple blogs on my site

Website Builder lets you create multiple blogs on your website— on the same page or different pages. Used in combination with blog categories, you can control which posts appear in each blog. That’s because Website Builder’s blog editor isn’t tied to any particular page, so you can create posts at any time and then decide what blog to display them on.

Required: Before you add another blog to your site, you need to create your first blog and categories for it. For that reason, set aside an extra 10-15 minutes to finish the whole job.
  1. Log in to your Adalike account and open your product.
  2. Click Edit Site.
  3. Click the Pages panel to reach the page where you want to put another blog.
    Select page for another blog

  4. Add a blog section to the selected page. By default it will display all your site’s posts but you can change that below.
  5. Click anywhere in the new blog section to open the blog panel.
  6. Click the Show posts from menu and select the blog categories you want to display on your new blog.
    Select categories for new blog
  7. Click Done and the new blog only displays published posts from the selected categories.
New blog displays only selected posts

Note: The All Posts button displays just posts for that blog — and none from any of your other blogs.

  8. Switch to the page where your original blog appears, click anywhere in the blog and use the blog panel’s Show posts from menu again to choose which post categories you want to show on that blog.
    Select categories for original blog
  9. Click Done to see the changes for the original blog, and when you’re ready click Publish.
Original blog displays newly selected categories
